Compared to the month of April, I managed to double my income from microstock photography for the month of May at my biggest earner, Shutterstock. It was tough, but well worth the time and effort spent. The biggest reason for this achievement was perhaps due to the number of images submitted, which was also roughly 2 times that of April.

Of course it does not mean that if you do not submit, you earn nothing for that month, but rather you get more in return if you submit content consistently. Even if you fail to submit much for that month, buyers will still be able to view and purchase your images 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some call it passive income. With the internet, we are now empowered to reach out to a larger customer base and the microstock industry is a very good example of what can be achieved.
