On this day, we had to set off before sunrise in order to get through a mountain pass before the road works start or else we might end up waiting 3-4 hours (!) for the pass to clear.
We were also lucky to get some clear skies after all that unexpected downcast weather before.

This layering effect of mountains was what I have always dreamt of capturing. The crisscrossing of the lines to meet at the valleys and the foreground and background perspective created by the mist make for an interesting effect.

Gangtey Valley from a hilltop in Bhutan.
One of those days where we had blue skies. The first half of the trip was downcast and misty even though the weather was supposed to be clear and sunny in this period of time.
Rice terraces really give texture and order to a landscape. Early golden morning light would definitely be more pleasing and bring out the shape and feel. That’s one of my photography goals.

These cute kids were looking curiously at us when we stopped along the road to patronise a roadside market of local produce. As they were quite active moving about, it took quite some patience and a few shots to finally get them focused on the camera.
